Jordann Norbert

Jordann Norbert is a distinguished leader and advocate in the field of sustainable food systems, currently serving as the CEO of the EcoFood Training and Certification Agency. With a strong background as a Sustainable Food and Beverage/Hospitality educator, curriculum designer, and consultant, Jordann has made significant contributions as an International Sustainable Food Systems Specialist.

Jordann's career began in education, where she spent nearly a decade as a Food, Nutrition, and Health educator within the secondary school system. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Resort Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica (2013), and a Master of Science in Executive Leadership in Hospitality Management from Monroe College (2019).

Beyond her role in education, Jordann has been instrumental in empowering women entrepreneurs. She served as Program Assistant and mentor for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs under SLUDTERA, a local organization in St. Lucia dedicated to supporting budding female entrepreneurs. Additionally, she has been an Island Innovation Ambassador, where she facilitated connections between island stakeholders and sustainable development practitioners globally. In this capacity, she led St. Lucia's local event for the Virtual Island Summit in 2022, focusing on "The Future of Tourism in St. Lucia: Sun, Sea, and Sustainability."

Jordann's commitment to green entrepreneurship is evident through her work with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), where she coached aspiring green entrepreneurs in the Eastern Caribbean. Her community impact is further highlighted by her involvement in the Like A Chef program and Food Heroes Workshop developed by the Worldchefs Association, which has served over 500 individuals through education and economic empowerment.

In her entrepreneurial journey, Jordann has achieved notable accolades, including 2nd runner-up in the National Entrepreneurship World Cup Competition for her Green Cuisine Initiative. She was also a finalist in the Global Green Growth Institute Incubator Program in 2022 and served as a speaker and business coach for the program’s participants in 2023. Moreover, she represented St. Lucia in the Climate Launchpad Accelerator Program national finals.

Under Jordann's leadership, the EcoFood Training and Certification Agency has forged strategic partnerships with The Taiwanese Technical Mission, Saint Lucia, The Food Hygiene Bureau (Jamaica), and the Worldchefs Association (France).

As a passionate advocate for sustainability within the hospitality and tourism sector for over a decade, Jordann holds the title of Sustainability Trainer under the World Association of Chefs Societies in France and possesses professional certificates in Sustainable Cities and Climate Change and Food Service. She is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of developing sustainable food systems, addressing issues related to food security, and managing food waste, particularly among small island developing states (SIDs) in St. Lucia and the Caribbean region.
