as regional manager for asm global puerto rico, jorge l. pérez, cve, cvp, oversees all operations related to the properties under the helm of the puerto rico government’s convention district authority, and is currently responsible for management and day-to-day business operations of these award-winning venues including the puerto rico convention center, coliseo de puerto rico, the iconic casino antiguo and the coca cola music hall at the t-mobile district in san juan. jorge has 13 years of successful proven trajectory in the industry. being at the helm of over 1,000,000 square feet of world-class entertainment, sports, meetings, and convention space, which are critical to the mice industries, jorge has helped fuel puerto rico’s economy by growing the convention and entertainment (mice) business by positioning puerto rico as a destination with world-class venues and implementing strategic partnering initiatives.

working closely with his team, discover puerto rico, the convention center district authority and other industry partners, jorge helped fuel puerto rico’s an unprecedented recovery of the convention and entertainment business out of the covid 19 pandemic by positioning puerto rico as a destination with world-class venues and implementing strategic partnering initiatives.
in 2021, jorge earned the prestigious certified venue executive (cve) designation from the international association of venue managers (iavm). pérez is the first and only executive in puerto rico ever to obtain the cve certification as well as also achieve the cvp designation within the same year. jorge’s biggest strengths are his leadership, drive and determination. it’s a good thing the former team captain and all-american at penn state university and member of the puerto rico national team at the 1991 pan american games also ran and completed the chicago city marathon because the responsibility of running dynamic venues in one of the world’s top destinations is no walk in the park. jorge has had the unique opportunity of experiencing sports tourism firsthand both as an athlete and from the business side.

jorge holds a bachelor’s degree from penn state university and an mba from the interamerican university. jorge was recently awarded certification as a certified venue professional, or cvp. this designation represents one of the highest levels of professional competency awarded by the international association of venue managers, the official association of mass gathering public assembly facilities. in his free time, jorge enjoys watching sporting events and loves to travel with his family. he lives in bayamon, puerto rico with his wife and two sons.
