Jose Checo

A father of four, curious, enthusiastic, educator, José Checo has a 25-year professional career and experience in business development and entrepreneurship ecosystem-building. Director of training at Enlaces, Angel Investors Network of the Dominican Republic and president of EmprendeMyPe, a local consultant firm that looks to promote entrepreneurship strategy for Micro and small businesses growth. As the former Director of Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Checo was in charge of policy and strategy design and implementation. Among his legacies to date for the policy framework in the Dominican Republic are the National Entrepreneurial Challenge and City Challenges, and the national Entrepreneurship Network. Mr. Checo holds an BA in Marketing and a Master in Education, which turn out to be his passion - one which he has combined to teach and mentor entrepreneurs. Mr Checo is also known as an avid reader and endless learner, who is committed to making a difference in his country and the world.
