Kamogelo Mampane

Kamogelo Mampane (FCIPS) has 20 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) at the operational and strategic level. His highest academic qualification is a MBA which he obtained at Henley Business School (UK). Kamogelo Mampane a member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Africa Non – Executive Board member and Chairperson of Tshwane University Advisory Board. He was awarded the highest grade of the professional body status as a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (UK) or FCIPS. The FCIPS status is awarded by the CIPS Fellowship Board in the UK to professionals that clearly demonstrate high ethical standards and that continues to support and contribute positively to the procurement profession. He offers Supply Chain Advisory services to companies, board members and Executive Committees. He is a thought leader is Public Procurement and assist companies to leverage on their Supply Chain and Procurement resources with the current Public Sector regulation in South Africa. His assists companies world class benchmark services and assist companies to implement IT Solution to optimise their Procurement and Supply Chain process by working with IT OEM‘s and increase transparency and effectiveness in their value chain. He started his career as an electrical engineer and got involved in some of the large construction projects in the country. In 1996 he mentored and coached Small Black Owned Companies in the construction sector and conducted on job training. He assisted these companies to manage their finances, complete project reports templates, progress reports and electrical compliance certificates. He conducted overall project estimates on behalf of public works and assisted SME companies to be sustaible and competitive beyond public works development program. He then joined Transnet where he assisted Transnet Freight Rail to develop and implement Procurement Governance Structures in different regions and also trained members of the Regional Procurement Tender Committee. Kamogelo managed the supply chain operation of the coal-line which was the second revenue stream for Transnet Group, the line included areas such as Thabazimbi to Richardsbay, Zimbabwe and Maputo corridors. As a Consultant he developed some of the leading practices such as Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Life Cycle Management (CLM), e-sourcing etc. He also facilitated and managed one of the most effective State Owned Entity (SOE) training intervention called Strategic Sourcing Bootcamps which were an intense learning experience for Supply Chain Management professionals that was designed to challenge SOE’s most talented staff, under extreme conditions, ensuring that they are equipped with the most up to date tools and techniques to generate the best deals for State Owned Enterprises. He coordinated all activities of SOEPF for six (6) years and under his chairmanship and leadership has signed an agreement with CIPS to become the benchmark and the first South African professional body of leading practice for Supply Chain communities and to ensure that all procurement and supply chain officials in Southern Africa have a license to practice. Kamogelo also lead negotiations with South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) who are signatories of Procurement Local Accords to support local production and Supplier, Enterprise Development initiatives by creating centre of excellence and market opportunities to SME’s. He also facilitated and signed an agreement with private sector represented by Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) in support of professionalisation efforts and support synergies between the state and private sector organisation.
