Biography: Mr. Kareem Payne
Mr. Kareem Payne is a purposeful, passionate and proficient youth leader, mentor and protagonist of changing nations through the development of people. A vivacious and well-rounded individual, Mr. Payne firmly believes that the solution to many of life’s challenges lies in the importance of developing resilient, resolute people who possess positive attitudes and unwavering mindsets. Every day, he embodies one of his personal credos of “positively impacting the lives of individuals in such a way that they are left better off than they were prior to meeting him”. He has mentored and made presentations to many young people and youth groups in Barbados and is currently the Project Manager of the Youth Agri-preneurship Incubator Program; an innovative program conceptualized to create young entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. At its very core, the aforementioned credo stresses the importance of developing people which is of extreme importance to Mr. Payne.
Mr. Payne has earned a MSc. in Project Management and Evaluation and a BSc. in Management with a Minor in Psychology, both from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. As an individual who constantly seeks self-development and professional advancement, he has continued his professional development in Project Management and is currently pursuing the PMP designation from the internationally acclaimed Project Management Institute based in the USA. Mr. Payne has worked in a variety of industries and attributes his resolute work ethic and professionalism to his past experiences working in myriad menial jobs as a student trying to pay his way through school. He has indeed been tried and tested, but often preaches he would not change his journey if given the opportunity, as he attributes the hard work and struggle, to his humility, appreciation and love for people he possesses today.
Always one to serve, Mr. Payne has volunteered at: the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados, several research projects at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and also served as President of the Trinidad & Tobago Student Association while pursuing his undergraduate degree. As a budding entrepreneur, Mr. Payne intends to build his business on the foundation of discipline, hard-work, respect and valor, which are personal watchwords he adheres to daily. His mission is simple: Improve nations through the emancipation and empowerment of people and the creation of unshakable mindsets.
