KATE MOLOTO

Kate is the CEO of Moloto Solutions (a corporate governance, financial management and empowerment consultancy)and Moloto BEE, an accredited BEE verification agency.Before and even during her consulting career, Kate has held a number of senior strategic positions, more notably asCEO of Ntsika (now SEDA), Project Manager for Mafisa, Interim CEO of AISA, Acting CFO of the MHSC (Mine Healthand Safety Company), Acting CFO of TETA (Transport, Education and Training Authority). She is also a current andpast director of companies.She has also handled other high-level assignments involving, among others: situation and financial analyses, internalauditing, risk assessment, corporate governance, forensic auditing, supply chain management policies andprocedures review,  project management and  restructuring, for public entities and SA national governmentdepartments, like the SAPO (South African Post Office), City Power, Legal Aid Board, Eskom Enterprises, IDT, SABC,the Departments of Minerals & Energy, Water Affairs and Agriculture.  Her career started in Finance, as a trainee manager at Nedbank. She then proceeded to Pim Goldby, to complete herarticles. Thereafter she held various financial management positions with Smith Kline and French, BMW SA, and theDevelopment Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). She then moved to General / Strategic management in variouspositions. At Ntsika, a small business promotion agency, she was the Chief Executive Officer. She moved on toManase & Associates as Executive Director before starting the consultancy.On the BEE  / Transformation front, she has handled a number of private and public sector BBBEE verifications ofcompanies of different sizes. At the DBSA, she played a leading role in the restructuring, as head of theTransformation Task Force. She has also led a number of large scale BBBEE consulting projects, including the reviewof compliance by the Mining and Oil sectors for the Departments of Mineral Resources and Energy, and the BaselineStudy for the Department of Trade and Industry. She is also leading the facilitation of the alignment with new B-BBEEcodes by the Construction sector on behalf of established industry. She was also one of three consultants for theWorld Bank and Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’   study into the agricultural public expenditure(AGPER).Kate is a current director of Service SETA (also member of the Audit, Transformation (chairperson) and FinanceCommittees (chairperson)) and Agrivie / AVIA (a Private Equity Fund manager focused on Agriculture).Past director positions include: Land Bank, Pikitup (Audit Committee Chairman), DHL Global Forwarding, including theDHL Foundation Trust (chairperson); Chairperson of APOL Ltd, Independent Audit Committee Member of the ARCChairman of Metropolitan Trading Company, Chairperson of ABVA (the Association of BEE verification agencies) andmember of the Mpumalanga B-BBEE Advisory committee.She holds a B Com, a CTA (and articles), a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor qualification), a Certificate in InvestmentAnalysis & Portfolio Management, and is a Certified Representative in terms of the FSB (Financial Services Board).
