Khanyisile Molaba

Khanyisile Molaba is an entrepreneur, empowerment advocate and storyteller who boasts a wealth of experience within the media and communications industry. As a young African woman in news, she held a number of roles, including business and politics reporter, digital editor, and producer for television, radio, and print. She currently reports on South African news stories for international news organizations; Africa News and worldwide video agency, Viory.

In 2020, Khanyisile launched Dynasty Brandworx, a 100% African Youth-Led digital servicing and creative communications business. The business was voted one of South Africa’s Top Gender-Empowered companies in 2021 by Standard Bank and Topco Media. The business hubs and develops young professionals in tech, media, Information Technology and marketing.

When she is not telling stories, she leads and facilitates social, entrepreneurial and educational initiatives aimed at empowering African women and youth through partnerships between the government, corporate, and civil sectors, with the UK-South Africa Tech Hub as one of the notable collaborators. The programs work with more than 5000 children and 200 women across 3 African countries through the youth and women-run chapters. In 2021, Khanyisile was recognized by the UK High Commission for her contributions to youth development and efforts in accelerating digital literacy, entrepreneurship and educational advancement in Africa. Khanyisile is also a mentor on the All4Youth Sub-Saharan Africa programme, a collaborative alliance spearheaded by various multinational companies to create and implement empowerment-based programs for youth in Africa. Under the programme, Khanyisile has provided guidance and mentorship to young women in Nigeria, Malawi, South Africa and Namibia. She is a mentor for the Tony Elumelu Foundation's Entrepreneurship Program.

She headed the media and communications committee of the Women's Empowerment Network of South Africa. The Women’s Empowerment Network of South Africa (WENOSA) enables women to create valuable networks, connect to new partnerships, and access mentorship, skills development, funding and economic opportunities.

In 2023, Khanyisile was named an Unsung Hero by Sunday World and African Bank, in recognition of her entrepreneurial strides and efforts in championing empowerment in Africa. She was also named a Gauteng Woman of Wonder in 2023.

Khanyisile is supported by The Graça Machel Trust (Women Creating Wealth Program) through its partnerships with the Visa Foundation and FASSET, Future Females and Edelman Africa as well as The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs; an initiative by the U.S. Mission to South Africa and the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF). She is also a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumna and an Effective Altruism (EA) scholar and fellow in 2025.

As both a changemaker and a storyteller, Khanyisile uses the media not only to report on the world — but to reimagine and rebuild it.
