Kunyalala Maphisa

Kunyalala is a commercial attorney turned entrepreneur and businesswoman, and a social activist. She has more than 15 years in commercial law experience mainly in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and transaction advisory and has worked in multiple African countries. She has served in various senior executive position including at Ernst & Young South Africa. She founded a Johannesburg based investment (mainly small scaleable SMEs) and advisory focusing on transaction advisory, capital raising and acquisitions. She recently joined Empretec, to head the organisation's advisory, business development and enterprise development strategy. She holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Cape Town (UCT). And a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA), in Public Policy and Industrial Relations also from UCT.

Kunyalala, a Zimbabwean born woman, has served as the President of the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa, the largest association of professional and businesswomen in South Africa. She serves on the Board of PPC Limited, a cement company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, on the Governing Council for the University of Cape Town (UCT).

She has dedicated her work to entrepreneurship development through various initiatives.
