Lanisia Rhoden

Lanisia Rhoden is a Social Entrepreneur and Business and Non-Profit Management Consultant, who is passionate about Entrepreneurship and Youth & Community Development. Lanisia has over 15 years’ experience in the Non-Profit and Entrepreneurship sectors. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Award winning Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Young Women/Men of Purpose (YWOP/YMOP) an organization which provides career guidance, mentorship and entrepreneurship training and support to young people in the Caribbean. Lanisia, is also the Founder and CEO of the organization’s Social Enterprise, Link Your Purpose (LYP), an online career development platform. Lanisia helps individuals and companies start, register, grow, fund, and sustain their own Non-Profit Organizations and Businesses through the NGO Journey Consulting Agency and helps organizations and individuals add value to their organization and constituents.
Over the years, Lanisia has received several awards for her work, including the Commonwealth Youth Award for Excellence in Development Work (2013), the Jamaica Governor General’s Award for Youth Leadership and Community Development (2011), the Leader Worth Following Award from LeaderCast Kingston 2019. She was recognized and awarded for her contributions to the field of Business, by the Gleaner’s Flair Magazine who honoured twenty-five Distinguished Women on International Women’s Day 2018, and her NGO, YWOP/YMOP, received the CVSS Non-Profit Organization of the Year 2018 Award.
Lanisia has an MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Manchester, UK as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, a BSc in Food Service Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica and has had her work accepted for presentations at International Entrepreneurship Conferences and published in an International Entrepreneurship Journal. She has represented Jamaica and the Caribbean and has participated in incubators, accelerators, conferences, and fellowship programmes in over 16 countries because of her work in youth and community development and entrepreneurship. Some of these include, being a Social Enterprise Fellow and graduate of the DO School, Germany, a Young Founder of the Westerwelle Foundation, Berlin, alumni of the Daimler DOathon, Berlin, was one of two winners to represent the Caribbean at the SLUSH Global Impact Accelerator in Helsinki, Finland in 2017 and Global Innovator of the Expo 2020 Dubai, Expo Live Innovation Grant Programme.
