Leonel Azuela

Leonel Azuela founded Quaxar in 2000. Quaxar’s services have been implemented in the U.S. and across Latin America, and include loyalty platforms, the Quaxar customer data Hangar, CRM operations for Fortune 500 companies.

Leonel co-founded EvolutionCode in 2022, a Latin American nearshore IT and AI solutions firm specializing in dedicated team augmentation. EvolutionCode provides nearshore dedicated teams and AI-driven solutions to clients ranging from medium-sized companies to large corporations seeking to scale efficiently and optimize costs. The company’s innovative PODS team structure and deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence set it apart in the market.

Since its inception, EvolutionCode has doubled in size each year, serving clients in the U.S. and Japan. The company recently launched LegalHelp, an AI product designed to streamline legal processes for financial institutions. LegalHelp has been accepted and is growing with various financial institutions in Latin America.

In 2009 Leonel was appointed CEO of Grupo Brisa, a medium-sized Mexican family business conglomerate that includes hotels, restaurants, industrial laundry services, and tire distribution and logistics in the southeast of Mexico. Since Leonel’s involvement Grupo Brisa’s revenue increased by more than 7 times. In 2014 Leonel received the “Prize for Excellence” from Bridgestone México for his innovative management, and was nominated as “Tire Man” of the year by the National Association of Tire Distributors in Mexico. Since 2019, Leonel now works for the Group as a Board Member and Advisor.

Leonel passion and mission is the development of people´s talent and success through education and entrepreneurship. In 2011 Leonel co-founded Miami Business Pro (MBP) with the Tec de Monterrey, a post-graduate professional development program for students from Latin America in Miami. From 2012 to 2014 he traveled worldwide through the Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology representing his native state of Veracruz in Mexico in order to create and promote a regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. Leonel is an active mentor of Endeavor, and a recruiter and coach for the How to Start Something Program of Entrepreneur Ready. Leonel was Board Member of NFTE Florida, a founding Board Member of the Miami Chapter of AEM, and a founding board member of BeMiaMx.

Before founding Quaxar, Leonel worked as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank, as a consultant for McKinsey & Co, where he achieved the Hugo García Prize as the Outstanding Business Analyst, and as an economist for the Mexican President’s Office. Leonel has an MBA and a Masters's in Public Administration from Harvard. He graduated with honors as an economist from México´s ITAM. Leonel is a certified PMP by the Project Management Institute.
