Leafline Pty Ltd is a South African innovative manufacturing business based in the Eastern Cape, dedicated to developing sustainable, reusable hygiene products using natural pineapple-leaf fibre. Leafline began in 2017 with a mission to develop an alternative to disposable hygiene products. By utilising fibre extracted from pineapple leaves, an agricultural by-product, the company developed washable sanitary towels designed to provide women and girls with a reusable alternative while helping to reduce sanitary waste. The innovation received recognition from The Innovation Hub in 2018, followed by further support and development through initiatives such as the SAB Foundation.

Today, Leafline's product range extends beyond menstrual hygiene to include washable adult incontinence products and absorbent mats for pets. These products serve schoolgirls who menstruate, young mothers, elderly people and caregivers, as well as pet owners seeking practical, reusable alternatives to disposable absorbent products.

Leafline's approach supports a circular economy by creating value from agricultural resources that might otherwise go to waste. The company aims to reduce environmental waste, improve access to essential hygiene products, and create employment opportunities through skills development, manufacturing and the participation of women and young people.

With experience in product development, fibre processing and manufacturing, Leafline is working to expand its retail presence, strengthen online sales, develop corporate and community partnerships, and reach new markets across Africa and internationally. Its proprietary technology and manufacturing know-how also present opportunities for international collaboration and licensing.
