Boakai Sheriff M

My name is Boakai M. Sheriff. I was born in a tiny little town in Lofa County, Republic of Liberia called Konia. At age three in 1990, we fled the civil war in Liberia and exiled in the Republic of Guinea as a refugee from 1990 through 1995. Once again, we fled from Liberia in early 2001 to seek refuge in the Republic of Sierra Leone where I spend most of my educational sojourn both as a refugee and independent student with both of my parents in Liberia.
I graduated from the St. Joseph Secondary and Agricultural School in Small Bo Chiefdom, Sierra Leone and later moved back to Liberia in 2005. As a high school graduate, I had no qualification nor competencies to seek for job in Liberia, which led to the golden rise of my inborn entrepreneurial characters.
I officially launched my enterprise in 2010, called Gboni Enterprise Incorporated. We are currently operating in three vital sectors of the Liberian Economy; Oil & Gas, Trucking, and General Constructions which have created over 4o jobs and hundreds of contractors over the past few years in operation.
I currently sit on three not-profit boards and serving as consultant for several others. I currently founded an entrepreneurship program in Liberia called Liberia Entrepreneurs Development Program which is aimed at encouraging women’s participation in national development through entrepreneurship and business and hoping to see a rapid increase in women’s ownership of local businesses by 40% in 2020 by means of micro-finance, training, networking, and consultancies for free to aspiring local entrepreneurs.
