Consulting Veterinarian, JangoBio/Heartland Vivarium 2016-Current
• Worked with company founder to establish the Standard Operating Procedures to run the vivarium
• Written, reviewed and revised the Public Health Service Assurance documents for the company
• Write and review protocols for the 5 small companies that now use the vivarium

Chief Scientific Officer, Plumb Pharmaceuticals 2011-Current
• Co-founder of the company
• Have done basic tasks for running a small business (hiring, managing personnel, paying bills)
• Written and obtained 3 SBIR grants
• Co-developed a 3-month extended-release formulation of naltrexone for treatment of Opioid Use Disorder through early in life studies

Clinical Instructor through Clinical Associate Professor 2001-2023
University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Independent and collaborative research program in animal models and therapeutics for pain relief and for liver disease.
• Refinements for methodologies of for studying electrophysiology in laboratory animals.
• Taught classes in laboratory animal medicine at the SVM from 1995 to 2008 and I continue to assist with surgery teaching through RARC.
• Mentored many veterinary students and early career clinicians and taught pathology to nursing students at Edgewood College.

• Senior Program Veterinarian and had principal clinical responsibilities for the College of Letters and Sciences, including approximately 400-600 nonhuman primates, plus mice, rats, wild deer mice, chinchillas, birds and frogs.
• Served on the College of Letters and Sciences, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for over 18 years and currently sit on the IACUC that was formed when the Letters and Sciences and Graduate School IACUCs were recently combined.

• Resident in laboratory animal medicine and graduate student in Dept. of Comparative Medicine.
• PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathobiology in 1992.

• Undergraduate studying entomology/pre-veterinary school studies,1979-1982.
• Graduated cum laude in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
