Lydia Takyi, PhD

Lydia Takyi is an Academic and an Entrepreneur. She is a Senior Lecturer, at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) and Head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development Education (CEDE). Dr. Takyi holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, a fellow of the Project Management Professionals (FPMP), Ghana, and a member of Institute of Directors (IoD) Ghana. She also holds Master of Philosophy in Public Administration degree from the University of Ghana and Bachelor of Education, Social Sciences, Majoring in Management & Minoring in Economics, from the University of Cape Coast.
Lydia has worked in the academic world in a capacity as a lecturer, senior lecturer, administrator, academic chancellor for over 12 years. Position Held include Research and Project Coordinator, Department Examination Coordinator, Head of Centre. She has over ten published peer-reviewed journal articles to her credit. Her research interests span from entrepreneurship and strategy, strategic alliances and symbiotic relationships, internationalization, good governance, and financial administration, with my extensive research contributions focusing on entrepreneurial strategies for SME growth, employability & students’ entrepreneurship, overcoming market challenges, and enhancing international market performance of Ghanaian entrepreneurs. Currently, Lydia is the Principal Project Lead for the AAMUSTED Career & Employability Project, aimed at boosting employment among graduates. She also currently serving as a spring impact expert in Lean Innovation Model for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ghana and the MasterCard Young Africa Innovate project. Lydia is currently looking for opportunities to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, government bodies, organizations and institutions to stimulate and sustain entrepreneurial education to enhance student employability and SMEs growth and development. I am dedicated to advancing research on the impact of AI and ICTs on entrepreneurial education, future industry, and future of work, business development and sustainability.
