Dr. Saddiq Iro Matazu is a visionary leader in entrepreneurship and
community development, known for his transformative impact on Nigeria’s
socio-economic landscape. He is the founder of three dynamic companies:
Maison Matz Ltd, Matz Enterprises, and Maison Matz Foundation, which
collectively empower entrepreneurs and uplift communities. Currently, he
serves with the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) in
partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under
the Northwest Prevention Facility, where his strategic leadership fosters
economic resilience and inclusive growth.
Dr. Saddiq Iro Matazu is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and policy influencer
dedicated to empowering the next generation of global business leaders.
Born on September 20, 1995, in Lagos State, Nigeria, he hails from a
distinguished lineage as the son of Alhaji Iro Matazu (Mai Damisan Katsina),
the district head of Matazu. Honoring his royal heritage, he holds the
traditional title of Sarkin Dawaki of Matazu.
With an unwavering passion for education and entrepreneurship, Dr. Saddiq
embarked on an international academic journey. He holds a BSc in
International Business from the University of East London (2014), an MBA
from Federation University, Australia (2015), and earned his Doctorate in
Business Administration (2022) from France, becoming the youngest PhD
holder in his field at age 26. His doctoral research focused on Customer
Satisfaction in Nigeria’s Commercial Banks, offering innovative solutions to
enhance service quality.
A dedicated advocate for entrepreneurship, Dr. Saddiq is the founder of
Maison Matz Ltd, Matz Enterprises, and Maison Matz Foundation, companies
aimed at enabling entrepreneurs to become global brands. His work focuses
on youth empowerment, gender equality, and enhancing women’s
participation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As the Operations Lead at the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency
(KASEDA) in partnership with UNDP under the Northwest Prevention Facility,
Dr. Saddiq has played a pivotal role in transforming livelihoods across Katsina
State. Under his leadership, over 4,000 nano, micro, and small businesses
received grants as part of a UNDP & World Bank-assisted COVID relief
program (DLI 3.2 & 3.3 under RA3), with a strong focus on financial inclusion
and banking the unbanked in rural areas. Additionally, he facilitated business
management training for the MSMEs, emphasizing women and youth-led
enterprises.
Recognized for his strategic vision and transformational leadership, Dr. Saddiq
actively contributes to policy development aimed at socio-economic
empowerment. His long-term goal is to become a national-level policy
transformer, championing dignity and autonomy for all Nigerians through
inclusive governance.
A dedicated community leader and academic, Dr. Saddiq also serves as a
Reviewer with the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social
Science (IJRISS), where he contributes to advancing research and innovation
in social sciences.
