Matt Hunter

Matt Hunter (insta: @MattHvnter) was destined for the corporate life but decided to take a leap of faith, quit his job and follow his heart. His first true passion is music. Matt started his band, Natural Animal (https://soundcloud.com/ntrlanml) with the goal of creating music that would be the excuse to bring his community together. Their music has topped the Hype Machine charts several times and they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with acts like Disclosure, SBTRKT and LCD Soundsystem. In an effort to further deepen the ties within this ecosystem, Matt and his bandmate built a technology aimed to strengthen the connection between fans and the band. That idea soon progressed into a tech company called Turnstyle (https://getturnstyle.com/), which is now a way to connect brands with customers through public WiFi. Turnstyle now has 30 employees, services over 25,000 venues in 31 countries and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fox News and Charlie Rose.

In his spare time, Matt is the Toronto Ambassador for the Thousand Network, a global group of young entrepreneurs (http://thousandnetwork.com/). Matt is also keen on creating wellness and positivity based social settings by being the Toronto producer for the morning dance movement Daybreaker (http://dybrkr.com/). Matt graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2009, and worked with BMO Global Asset Management as an Investment Analyst until 2012. Matt is always up for strange adventures, catching the sun rise, artistic pursuits, wellness based activities and meditation. He also takes his morning routines way too seriously…
