Maulik Markan

Maulik is an entrepreneur and an aspiring VC who is passionate about Finance, Education & Technology, and what the next generation of startups can do for the higher-ed landscape. He has mentored multiple start-ups and judged startup pitch competitions using his leadership skills and extensive global network.

Maulik Markan’s past experience centers around Venture Capital, Consulting and Business Strategy. He has worked previously with the Facebook Disruptor team, which helps grow the world’s most innovative Direct-to-Consumer eCommerce companies. At Venture Catalysts, India’s largest Integrated Incubator, he managed the day-to-day operations which included due-diligence and organizing pitch-day events. Currently, he is working on founding his own fintech startup and working as a VC scout.

His investment approach is to identify truly scalable startups which make the cut on key industry and organizational attributes, specifically Target Market, Revenue Model, Competitive Advantage, Key Risks, and Exit Opportunity. His strength is breaking down complex problems and formulating unique and innovative solutions.
