Michael Avon

Mike Avon has been a successful entrepreneur, operator and growth/venture investor for more than three decades. Mike joined ABS Capital’s investment team in 2015 and focuses on investments in cybersecurity, data analytics & intelligence and FinTech. Immediately prior to ABS Capital, he was the founding CEO and then Executive Chairman of ICX Media, a data-as-a service company focused on serving leading marketing and media companies. Before launching ICX Media, Mike helped found Millennial Media, one of the first major mobile marketing and data companies, as a venture capitalist and later joined the company to lead its successful growth phase and IPO (NYSE:MM), serving as CFO and President. Prior to Millennial Media, Mike was a venture and growth investor at Columbia Capital where he led investments in data, software, and communications technology companies and helped found and launch two companies out of the fund. Mike has held various operating roles in early and growth-stage technology businesses and has advised and invested in numerous data and technology companies throughout his career. He began his career as a corporate lawyer serving private equity/venture capital funds and early and growth stage technology businesses.

Mike is based in ABS Capital's Washington, DC office and is an active participant in the local technology community. In his free time, he is involved with multiple charitable organizations and serves on various boards of the University of Virginia College Foundation. Mike lives in McLean, VA with his wife and two children.
