Edward Boafo Owusu

Edward Owusu is a knowledgeable, curious, and motivated professional with over a decade of experience spanning media, communications, project management, and marketing. He is currently the Programs Lead for the Black Star Experience, a flagship cultural and tourism initiative designed to showcase Ghana as a leading destination for global diasporan engagement, creative exchange, and investment.

In his role, Edward leads the design and execution of high-impact programs that intersect arts, culture, heritage, and business. He brings a dynamic blend of strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and creative direction to ensure that each activation under the Black Star Experience contributes meaningfully to Ghana’s cultural economy.

Edward holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Ghana, and he has supplemented his academic foundation with professional training in Public Relations, Advertising & Marketing (Ghana Institute of Journalism), Business Development (British Council & UG Business School), and Social Media Marketing.

Over the years, he has built a solid career delivering results across various sectors. His work experience includes roles such as Sales Officer at Bakers’ Line Ghana Ltd., where he honed his client relationship and sales skills; Radio Producer at Okay FM; Project Manager at Rave Media and Strategic Communications Africa; and Sales & Marketing Executive at Nandimobile.

Edward is known for his ability to develop compelling content, manage multifaceted projects, and build lasting relationships. His work at the community level during his time with Third World Network—documenting the impact of mining in rural areas—reflects his commitment to advocacy and social development.

He thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly adaptable, and brings strong interpersonal, time management, and multitasking skills to every endeavor. Whether working independently or leading a team, Edward remains focused on delivering impact, fostering innovation, and creating value in Ghana’s growing creative and cultural landscape.
