Nazeh Ben Ammar

As en engineer and a Mathematician that graduated from Indiana, Purdue University with a master degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University with a focus on Innovation and startups, my focus was on entrepreneurship since the beginning on '90's. My first startup was in 1997 with an exit within a year. I have more than 12 startups in my portfolio. Most of the them had major challenges given the investment environment in Tunisia, North Africa. There are however some succes stories in the biotech sector, deetech in general. I played a major role in the Tunisian ecosystem as a founding member and past President of the first Busienss Angel's Association in North Africa: Carthage Business Angels. I followed with a group of investors an incubator Wikistartup that performed very well. About a year ago I created with some investors a startup studio (Venture Enabler) Mine 'n Shine by Mazars. I am also very active in the chambers of commerce. I am the past president of AmCham Tunisia and board member of the Tunisian German Chamber of Commerce. Had also the privilege to be the founding member ond member of the board of the employer Association Conect and the Tunisian African Business Council.I also managed and developed many companies in Tunisia in the textile industry: Mami and Aims. For a few years, my focus has been on building technology solutions with Excellencia and renewable energy in the ERA Africa for different countries besides Tunisia, such as Libya, Chad, Mauritania, and other sub-Saharan African countries.I am also an ex-athlete swimming (5 medals at the national level) and basketball player. Had also some philanthropic activities with les Coquelicots de Thala in partnership with la Fundacion Real Madrid and other initiatives.
