Nohely Hernandez Soto

Nohely Hernandez Soto was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 16th. Although initially expected to arrive on January 8th, she decided to make her entrance a bit earlier. Growing up, Nohely developed a love for sports, particularly basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Her competitive spirit led her to excel in volleyball and soccer during school tournaments.
At the age of 14, Nohely made a pivotal decision to focus solely on volleyball. Not long before making the decision, she became one of the top 20 basketball players in Puerto Rico. Sports became more than just a game; they became a passion that shaped her future.
Nohely's commitment extended far beyond the court. She pursued her academic interests with unwavering enthusiasm. In the summer of 2021, she accomplished a milestone, completing her bachelor's degree in general biology and earning a Certificate in Biotechnology. Her thirst for knowledge led her to actively engage in research experiences, presenting her findings at the JTM/39th PRISM Virtual Conference in 2021. Nohely's dedication also extended to assisting fellow students in their research projects, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
Nohely's career trajectory continued to expand. She participated in an internship at Lilly del Caribe, where she gained insights into the biotechnology industry. Later, she worked as a Research Assistant, contributing to plants and microbiology space research. Her diverse experiences included a role as a vaccination assistant, providing her first taste of the healthcare sector.
Today, Nohely Hernandez Soto stands as a Research Scientist. Her interests lie in medical and pharmaceutical sciences research. She remains grateful for every opportunity that has shaped her journey thus far and eagerly awaits new ones. As a lifelong learner, Nohely continues to broaden her skills and expertise in each step of the way.
