NSENGIYUMVA Emile

Né le 4 octobre 1982 à Maramvya, commune Nyabikere, Émile NSENGIYUMVA est le Directeur Général et fondateur de la Société Horticole et Avicole du Burundi (SOHABU) depuis 2014. Titulaire d'une licence en biologie de l’Université du Burundi et étudiant chercheur au programme de Master dans les sciences et technologies des Aliments STA dans la Faculté d'Agronomie et Bio-Ingénierie de l'Université du Burundi. Il est spécialiste en myciculture avec des compétences approfondies dans la gestion des projets. Après ses études universitaires, Émile a enrichi ses compétences à travers diverses formations professionnelles dans les domaines de la gestion des projets agricoles et dans la transformation des systèmes alimentaires. Les principales formations sont notamment la formation faite au Centre SONGHAI de Porto-Novo au Bénin sur les projets agricoles intégrés, formation sur l'agriculture contractuelle organisé par e-Prod et Milling school ainsi que la formation en ligne organisé par Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation sur les systèmes alimentaires, etc.
Entrepreneur engagé, il travaille quotiennement pour lutter contre la malnutrition et l’insécurité alimentaire grâce à des innovations agricoles adaptées à l'horticulture et à l'appui des initiatives entrepreneuriales des jeunes et femmes dans les communautés rurales. Son engagement lui a valu le prix du « Best Youth Champion » de la FAO/EAC en juin 2018 à Arusha (Tanzanie) pour son projet innovant de la culture des champignons. Il a également été distingué lors de la conférence des jeunes sur le continent Africain dénommé « Youth Employment in Agriculture as solid solution to ending hunger and poverty in Africa through ICTs and Entrepreneurship» en août 2018 à Kigali et a reçu un certificat de reconnaissance pour sa contribution au développement de l'agriculture au Burundi. Il a aussi représenté le Burundi au salon de business au Maroc lors de la célébration du cinquantenaire de la CONFEJES.
Professionnellement, Émile a été respectivement coordonnateur du projet PAPCHABU, promouvant la culture des champignons, financé par l'Ambassade de France au Burundi (2017-2018), de l'organisation des ingénieurs au Burundi OPRO-Engineering ainsi que de l'UNIDEV. Comme Consultant-formateur, il a travaillé avec diverses organisations telles que la FAO, CTB, ENABEL, Care International, ICCO-Coopération, Swiss contact, Talita kumi, ADISCO, ... pour soutenir les initiatives des jeunes et femmes. Il est membre actif de l'incubateur Youth Agribusiness Incubator (YAIN),qui accompagne les jeunes entrepreneurs en agribusiness
