AbdulBasit Bashir

AbdulBasit Bashir is a passionate renewable energy advocate, social entrepreneur, and changemaker dedicated to solving Nigeria's energy and environmental challenges through sustainable innovation. He is the founder and Business Development Manager of Revnics Energy, a pioneering recycling and clean energy company based in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Revnics Energy transforms electronic waste into energy storage backup solutions, such as lamps and generators, while also recovering valuable materials from discarded electronics. The company serves low-income households and small businesses in underserved communities by providing affordable, eco-friendly energy access while promoting a circular economy.

Under AbdulBasit’s leadership, Revnics Energy has impacted over 500 households, created 10 jobs, and empowered hundreds through clean energy advocacy, and upcycling initiatives. He was a 2024 Fellow of One Million Leaders Africa (OMLA), where he has received advanced training in social and business entrepreneurship, leadership, impact measurement, and fundraising.

AbdulBasit’s work reflects a strong commitment to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). His model blends innovation, gender inclusion, and grassroots community engagement to build sustainable, scalable solutions. He has received support from several impact-driven organizations and has participated in pitch competitions and sustainability forums across Africa.

Prior to founding Revnics Energy, AbdulBasit served as a Business Development Manager at Nafarm Foods, gaining valuable experience in strategic planning, product development, and stakeholder management. He also completed a service year at Kaduna Electric, where he worked across departments including metering, technical and printing, and also coordinated the NYSC corps members’ unit.

A graduate of Kaduna Polytechnic with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, AbdulBasit’s academic foundation aligns with his practical efforts in energy access and environmental sustainability. He is also actively involved in youth leadership and advocacy. He previously led student organizations like Junior Chamber International (JCI) and served in leadership roles representing Oyo State students. Additionally, he volunteers with WAGS-M NGO and Advance Initiative for International Development to support women and girls in civic leadership, green clubs, and education on the SDGs.

With unwavering vision, AbdulBasit continues to collaborate with academic institutions, government bodies, and private partners to scale Revnics Energy's impact. His mission is clear: To power the future sustainably, one community at a time.
