BIOGRAPHY OF MICHAEL OLOGOMichael Ologo is Executive Director and a co-founder of a registered Non-Governmental Organization in Ghana called Apostle Padi Ologo Traditional Birth Centre (APOTBC). With the help of our partners abroad, Michael Ologo and APOTBC sponsoring training of a midwife under a project called Improving Maternal Health through Sponsoring Student Midwifery Project.Michael Ologo was a Project Manager for AusAID funded project called ‘Improving Maternal Health for Vulnerable Women’ and ‘Building on Improvements in Maternal Health’. Both projects happened between 2009 and 2013. Under these projects, Michael Ologo constructed Community Health Centre and equipped it with medical equipments in rural Ghana serving nine communities. Under his leadership in these projects, Michael Ologo secured Community Ambulance for emergency cases, organized monthly Community Reproductive Health Education and provided safe drinking water through construction of mechanized borehole in rural Ghana. Mr. Ologo’s background as a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences acquired in University of Cape Coast and Certificates in Project Planning and Management as well as Monitoring and Evaluation acquired in Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration has been helpful to him with regard to project management.Michael Ologo is not only a social worker; he is a Professional Teacher having acquired Teachers Certificate ‘A’ in a recognized Teacher Training College in 1999. He is Assistant Director in Ghana Education Service and teaches Geography as well as Social Studies in a Senior High School. In the school environment, he formed environmental club called Nature Serves to sensitize students on Climate Change. He is the Staff Welfare Chairman and coordinates welfare activities in the School. Mr. Ologo was Deputy Headmaster at the Junior High School level and taught Mathematics as well as General Science between 1999 and 2003.
