Nino Obrero

NINO MARTIN P. OBRERO graduated with a degree in BS Entrepreneurship at the Ateneo de Naga University, awarded Cum Laude and a Distinction in Entrepreneurship. He held a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Bicol University and was conferred as an Outstanding Graduate for Academic Excellence and Best in Oral Defense. Currently, he is completing his dissertation writing for the Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce at the University of Sto. Tomas as a Commission on Higher Education scholar. 

He was the Philippines’ representative at the 2019 Asia Pacific Youth Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He was a fellow of the Angat Buhay Young Leaders in Government, sponsored by the Office of VP Leni Robredo. Also, a researcher, Mr. Obrero, has been active in conducting and publishing research on entrepreneurship and sustainability. He has been a research grantee of the 2018 Department of Tourism National Research Grant. He was also the National Director of the Consortium of Entrepreneurship Educators for Development – the Philippines from July 2021 to March 2022, where he led educators in the country toward the continuous improvement of entrepreneurship education. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor IV at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC). He handles Entrepreneurship, Opportunity Seeking, Innovation Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Business Plan Preparation and Implementation, and Technopreneurship courses. 

He is also the current Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Manager of CSPC, funded by DOST PCIEERD focuses on developing and mentoring start-ups in the food industry in the province of Camarines Sur. Before joining the academe, he worked as a Trade and Industry Development Analyst in the Department of Trade and Industry – Camarines Sur. Mr. Obrero is also an accredited lead Trainer of Facebook Philippines and the Grassroots Entrepreneurship and Management Program of Bayan Academy, training micro, small and medium enterprises all over the country.
