Pakiza Abdulrahman

Pakiza is the Head of Investor Aftercare at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB). In this capacity, her focus is on encouraging large local and multinational investors in Bahrain to grow their investments. Pakiza leads on the ever-growing sectors like Logistics and Real Estate and is supported by the wider Investor Aftercare team.

Pakiza is an expert in Startups and Policy Advocacy to encourage the growth of a thriving Startups Ecosystem. From 2017 – 2019, Pakiza headed the Startups division in the Economic Development Board, where she focused on building the strategy of growing and attracting technology based innovative startups in Bahrain through a multi-stakeholder initiative. Prior to joining the EDB, Pakiza worked in the telecommunications sector for over 14 years, with her focus mainly on Product Development, Enterprise Marketing, Corporate Sustainability & Entrepreneurship.

She is the Country Director for Startup Grind (Silicon Valley based global network of startups, investors, and mentors). She is a founding Board Member of GEN Bahrain, Google Developers Group Manama (the local chapter certified by Google to build local tech skills) and is currently an Advisor to the Board of WOMEN IN TECH Bahrain.

Pakiza holds an Executive MBA from Duke University – USA and a BSc. in Accounting from the University of Bahrain.
