As a government official in Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Dr. Nam Pham assists the Vice Minister on state management of technology transfer, technology innovation, technology commercialization and technology enterprise development.
Dr. Nam Pham also serves as Director of the National Office of Project 844 - the Initiative for Startup Ecosystem in Vietnam (ISEV), initiated by the Prime Minister in 2016. In this role, he is currently leading ISEV to run various programs and events to foster the development of the national startup ecosystem, including:
Establishing legal frameworks that relate to the activities of startups.
Communicating and building up networks of stakeholders in the ecosystem.
Developing the capabilities of the ecosystem’s key players.
Organizing Techfest Vietnam, the largest annual event for the innovative startup community in the country.
He has also led the National Startup Support Center (NSSC), a sub-organization of MOST dedicated to providing services to startups and assisting them to connect with other startup ecosystems in the world;
Dr. Nam is a frequent speaker in national and international summits about startup ecosystem-building and governmental supporting policies and initiatives.
