Sheri Kurian

Dr Sheri Kurian is the Principal in Hospitality Management at the SJIHMCT, Pala- Kerala. He is a Postgraduate in Tourism Administration and has a PhD in Business Administration. He has successfully completed 5 outbound projects related to Hospitality services with leading multinational companies at Bangalore that includes ISRO, Schneider electrical, and Infosys Tech. He has always taken much interest in training and development activities. As Principal, was able to take the institution to the next level as the SJIHMCT, Pala, was able to achieve the best Hospitality Institute in Kerala and the 12th best Institute in the Private sector in India . He introduced the Global Hospitality education at AIMS by signing MOU with various International Educational Institutions, while he was working in Bangalore. He also took the initiative to modernize the Hospitality Labs. He organized various National and International seminars in association with other Hotel Management Institutions also invokes corporate social responsibility in the students and encourages them to participate in various social activities like Blood donation camp, Tree saplings plantations, etc.
Dr Kurian was instrumental in organizing the AIMS Hospitality Innovation & Culinary Expo at the AIMS Institutes Bangalore every year which provides a platform for the Hospitality Professionals, Students, Faculty and Food lovers to exchange their ideas and compete for each other, observe and learn from the masters which is one of its kind in India. Similarly, He Introduced “Pala Palate’ , a Unique culinary extravaganza at SJIHMCT, Pala. Dr Kurian has published many articles related to Hospitality & Tourism in various Publications in India and abroad. Successfully lead many projects such as International Passenger satisfaction survey and App Development for Indian Customs 2016 & 2018.
Dr Sheri Kurian won a special award from the Bangalore Ex-servicemen Association for his contribution to the society through community services. He was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the Hospitality industry by the IFCA in September 2016. He was presented with the Best Young Chef Mentor Award by the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations at the 8th International Chefs Conference 2019 for his relentless efforts to the upliftment of the culinary industry and mentoring various young chefs and also carrying forward the mission of IFCA.
Dr. Kurian was awarded an appreciation certificate by the Guiness Book of world Records for
Meticulously organising a medical camp with highest number of participants in the entire Karnataka state in the year 2017. Dr. Kurian is an esteemed member of the Prestigious SKAL International and he has been nominated to the executive board of SKAL- Kochi, in 2024. as the Mentor for Young Ska leagues
