Overview
The “ “ Palace is the bricks and mortar manifestation of a special comedy club in South Northumberland that has harnessed an entire community for good doing, centred around packed out, atmospheric comedy events, that attract the biggest names in UK stand-up comedy. The business has also previously branched into live football and boxing events with massive success to raise large sums of money for local charitable causes, and The “ “ Palace will follow in those footsteps, producing a buffet of live entertainment and community serving classes, and activities, day & night outside of City.

Complimenting The Community
This project will complement the continued development and regeneration of Blyth town centre, and will usher in visitors from neighbouring towns due to it’s exclusivity, and enabled by the town’s newly constructed rail links. We will seek to partner with our neighbouring businesses within the community so that they might benefit from the added tourism in travel, hospitality, and accommodation sectors.

We already have an army behind our already well established Comedy Club. The affectionately dubbed “Punch-Drunk Army” are a force that not only form one of the most sought after audiences to perform to in the country, but are also a cohesive community that gel together to get things done. Communicating via a Facebook Group, this cross-section collective of Blyth’s own, have conspired to crush foodbanks with support, help out individuals and families in need, and raise large sums of money for charitable causes. In a stand-out example of this, we were once able to support a Ponteland based youngster who had made the national headlines taking on an extremely rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma. Kian Musgrove needed in excess of £750,000 in order to receive life saving treatment in the US. Although appearing an almost insurmountable sum of money, what happened here in Blyth might one day become a film in it’s own right. It began with a charity boxing event inside Blyth Sports Centre with 1,000 in attendance, littered with star comics including Welsh host, Rhod Gilbert (See front page image). The event that night was one of folklore, with an atmosphere to be long remembered, and indeed it actually went on to be honoured as “The Event Of The Year” In the 2017 UK Comedy Awards. Beyond raising £40k that night, the community then gelled online to birth “100 Heroes”, each of whom raised another £1,000 towards Kian’s fight for life. Next th
