Rhonda St Hill Blanchard

I am Rhonda St Hill-Blanchard from the beautiful, Helen of the West, Saint Lucia. My husband and I started farming around our home for about eight years. However, during the Covid locked down period we experienced a shortage in food supply due to harsh climate conditions topped with interruptions in the shipment.
We also realized that students on the school feeding program had no access to food. This is where our journey began and the search for property commenced to establish an innovative farm with climate controlled greenhouses and an aeroponics system to mitigate the economic and environmental risks thus, having a consistent supply of natural produce.

We finally purchased land to commence our regenerative farm. My goals are to network and learn techniques to ensure the viability and sustainability of the business and take all the advice from the mentorship for the invaluable business strategy techniques.
We are a proud recipient of US$10,000 from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). This funds allowed us to complete the panda film greenhouse and assist Dugard Combined with a small aquaponics setup and will be commencing a hydroponic set up with St. Joseph’s Convent. This is not possible without the assistance of Dean Avril Climate Smart officer, Jameson Alphonse of GreenHeaven Farms and Harris paints for the contributions of the tanks for the system.

We are currently have commenced our production of oyster mushrooms with the assistance and training of Winsbert Pierre-Louis from Ministry of Agriculture and hope to be able to supply the market in the few weeks.
