Rebaone Mokwanatle

Rebaone Mokwanatle is a dynamic technology leader, innovation strategist, and digital skills specialist dedicated to advancing youth empowerment, smart city development, and cybersecurity capacity in South Africa. As the Tech Lead and Smart City Workshop Lead for the Mahikeng Smart City initiative, Rebaone plays a central role in driving forward-looking projects that integrate clean technologies, digital infrastructure, and community-centred innovation.

He leads several high-impact programs through the Mafikeng Digital Innovation Hub (MDiHub), including software development learnerships, AI-powered upskilling pathways, hackathons, digital literacy bootcamps, and municipal innovation projects. Rebaone has designed and delivered training aligned with certifications such as Microsoft AI-102, PL-900, N+, Security+, and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, ensuring young people and graduates gain globally relevant competencies.

Rebaone’s work spans technology incubation, IoT solutions, digital agriculture systems, community data platforms, and cybersecurity automation. His recent projects include a unified smart irrigation dashboard integrating Azure, AWS, and Power Platform; a resident qualifications database for municipal workforce planning; a Smart Greenhouse solution; and an ongoing PowerShell Network Security (PSNS) automation initiative.

He is also a dedicated mentor and facilitator, supporting graduates and early-career professionals as they transition into the tech ecosystem. Rebaone has organized and led major innovation events such as hackathons supported by SETAs, NASA Space Apps, and industry partners, ensuring participants gain both practical experience and real-world exposure.

Rebaone holds certifications in ISC2 CC, CompTIA Network+, Security+, and Microsoft PL-900, with strong interests in cybersecurity tools including Tenable, Splunk, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Wazuh, and cloud security automation. His work ethic is his most valued asset, consistently driving his commitment to excellence, innovation, and community upliftment.
