Latchmi Raghunanan

I am a Materials Scientist, a Project Manager, a Product Development Manager, and an explorer. An innovator and an entrepreneur. An adventurer and a couch potato.

I have worked within academia, industry, and startups; in the Caribbean, Europe, and Canada. I am an individual contributor and a team player. A teacher and a mentor. And time and time again, I have broken down cultural and functional silos to champion collaborative working environments.

Why? Because I care. I am a deliverer. I am a future-proofer.

How? I am motivated by a basal desire for stability and control, which has manifested over the years into my superpowers of sight, action, and creativity. Much like the plotline of Final Destination, I have the uncanny ability to 'see' through space and time, mapping all possible outcomes to every single action. Without losing sense of the here and now. I find as much satisfaction in the journey as the destination itself. And I possess the toolbox to navigate complex challenges and unexpected roadblocks along the way. I use these superpowers for good, taking deliberate action to deliver on the needs of the present while taking care of the future.

The result – a track record of success in driving innovation, product development, technical transfers, and operational excellence:
■ Navigated 29 R&D projects, delivering 5 granted patents and 4 MVPs, including a surgical adhesive used in preclinical trials;
■ Developed and coached 8 cross-cultural teams and >48 cross-functional professionals;
■ Implemented over 14 scalable processes with over $700K in strategic cost-saving initiatives.

In my most recent position, I have used these skills to develop and implement long-term and short-term project goals according to company objectives:
■ Managed the Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, successfully securing 2 granted patents.
■ Oversaw reporting for the Federal SR&ED tax incentive program, securing a 42% increase in non-dilutive funding from audit-free SR&ED credits over a 5-year period.
■ Developed a 50-molecule proprietary adhesive platform for use across the company’s pipeline technologies.

Join me on my new journey as Founder and CEO of Maman Biomedical, where I plan to put all of these experiences, skills, passions and abilities to work making IVF treatments less painful for the women who work for it all, dream of it all, and deserve it all.
