Ronard Tushabe

Ronard Tushabe is a Ugandan technology entrepreneur and youth empowerment champion with over six years of experience designing and implementing innovative programs at the intersection of education, technology, and community development. He is the Founder of Empower Youth in Technology (EYIT), a fast-growing innovation hub that has trained and mentored over 500 youth and women, launched five digital solutions, and facilitated the development of more than 50 prototypes across Western Uganda and beyond.

Ronard recently earned his Master of Engineering, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship (ESTEEM) from the University of Notre Dame in the United States, where he also served as a Communication Assistant at the Lucy Family Institute. His graduate capstone project—revamping the Business and Entrepreneurship Pathways Program for Sapulpa Public Schools—engaged over 50 stakeholders and is projected to reach 450 students annually, generating over $800,000 in value.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Ronard previously worked as a Systems Support Engineer, enhancing digital systems for over 4,000 students and 500 staff.

He is the visionary behind impactful projects such as:
PEPAS (Primary Education Performance Assessment System) – An AI-powered edtech platform now used in 313 schools by 40,000+ students and 1,000 teachers.
EYIT Startup Financing Initiative (ESFI) – A mobile-based microfinance program helping 300+ youth and women track and repay loans.
EYIT TV – A vibrant online TV platform with over 10,000 subscribers and 100,000+ monthly viewers, amplifying community voices and youth stories.
AccountantApp – A mobile tool for MSMEs managing business records with over 200 users.

Ronard is also an award-winning changemaker, having received global recognition and grants from prestigious institutions, including:
U.S. Department of State (Mandela Washington Fellowship, Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund, Reciprocal Exchange Program), FOYA Africa (Techpreneur of the Year), GIZ Uganda, USAID, MasterCard Foundation (CERRRP), and AFRINIC (Internet Research Grant).

He currently serves as ICT Chairperson and Board Member of Lions Club of Mbarara and is an active member of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Network.

Ronard’s work is driven by a deep passion for using technology and education as tools for social transformation. Through partnerships, product development, and digital media, he continues to equip Africa’s next generation with the skills and platforms to thrive in the digital economy.
