Saida Ounissi

Saida Ounissi is the State Secretary for Employment in charge of Professional Training and Entrepreneurship. She was previously member of the Tunisian Parliament, and served as member of the Finance Committee. She has the distinction of being the youngest female to be appointed as the head of an electoral list in Tunisia and as a member of the government. Ounissi has been recognized by international news media for her work to promote women’s rights in Tunisia. She started her professional carrier in the African Bank of Development in Tunis before working for the Jasmine Foundation where she was in charge of public policies evaluation. Largely educated in Europe, she has actively worked to promote wider recognition of the contribution of young Muslims in European societies through a partnership between Europe and the MENA region.
Ounissi holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris and is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
