Makers of Baghdad, established in 2017, is a thriving innovation hub with a clear mission to foster entrepreneurship in Iraq, create employment opportunities for young people in the digital sector, and promote the local production of goods and services. Since its inception, Makers of Baghdad has made a substantial impact, positively affecting the lives of over 5,000 individuals, with an impressive 48% participation rate among women. Our goal is to nurture a culture of innovation and creativity, providing access to resources, mentorship, and a supportive community to assist our members in growing and succeeding. Entrepreneurship: We offer comprehensive incubation programs aimed at empowering the entrepreneurial landscape in Iraq. Makers of Baghdad equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, knowledge and resources for success. Additionally, our state-of-the-art coworking space offers a collaborative environment for startups and entrepreneurs.
Product Design and Development: We take pride in our unique provision of a dedicated maker space equipped with cutting-edge machinery. This facility allows entrepreneurs to bring their product ideas to life by creating prototypes, software applications and MVPs, and commercial products.
Capacity Building for Youth: Makers of Baghdad offers training programs in the digital sector to equip young individuals with the skills and knowledge required to enhance their employability. These training programs are designed based on market demand and are endorsed by private sector companies. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the skills acquired from local universities and the skills demanded by private sector organizations.
