Scott Massey

Scott Massey is the Founder and CEO of Anu™, a health and wellness company pioneering AI-powered indoor farming systems to grow Pure Produce® where it’s consumed—in schools, healthcare facilities, and underserved communities. A graduate of Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Scott began his career as a NASA- and EPA-funded researcher, developing hydroponic systems for space colonization and sustainable indoor air purification.

Under Scott’s leadership, Anu has transformed from a student-led idea into a nationally recognized ag-tech company, backed by over $8 million in funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA SBIR), and the Purdue Research Foundation. The company’s patented rotary aeroponic technology is now being used in Indiana school systems, including the University of Evansville's “We Grow Aces” program, which will bring six container farms to Evansville Promise Neighborhood Schools. Anu has also partnered with Perry and Warrick County school districts and works closely with healthcare providers like Elevance Health (formerly Anthem) to implement Food as Medicine initiatives aimed at reducing chronic disease through nutrition access.

Internationally, Scott serves as a recurring advisor to the U.S. Department of State’s Mandela Washington Fellowship, where he has led multiple agricultural development tours across Africa. His work includes establishing hydroponic systems and conducting entrepreneurship training in Togo (2018, 2024), Northern Cameroon (2019), and Lesotho (2023), supporting food security and economic development in conflict-affected regions.

Recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in manufacturing and technology, Scott has also earned honors from Conexus Indiana, the National Kitchen & Bath Association, and Agrinovus Indiana. He continues to advocate for sustainable agriculture, policy innovation, and cross-sector collaboration as part of Indiana’s growing Food as Medicine and ag-tech workforce development movements. Through Anu, Scott aims to make nutrition more accessible, education more impactful, and agriculture more sustainable—locally and globally.
