Keturah Shammah

Keturah Shammah is a multifaceted leader, advocate, and digital entrepreneur dedicated to advancing education, technology, and gender equality. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Girls Education Mission International (GEM International), where she drives initiatives to empower girls and women through education and digital literacy. GEM International, under her leadership, plays a pivotal role in advocating for girls’ rights and combating gender-based violence, especially in the digital space, as a commitment maker in the Generation Equality Action Coalition.

Keturah’s professional journey reflects a profound commitment to education and empowerment. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and is currently deepening her expertise with a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Lagos Business School. Her diverse educational background also includes a Diploma in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Jos and a Professional Diploma in Website Development and Search Optimization from the Digital Marketing Skills Institute, where she mastered skills in digital marketing, SEO, and web development.

Beyond her role at GEM International, Keturah is the Communications Director for the YALI RLC Alumni Association Nigeria North Central Region and has influenced various organizations through her digital and advocacy expertise. She is also a Digital Ambassador with World Pulse and has served as a Women Technology Workshop Facilitator in partnership with Intel Women and Web Alliance, sharing her knowledge to help bridge the gender gap in tech. Additionally, Keturah’s leadership was recognized on a larger stage as a Technovation Mentor and Intel Master Trainer, guiding women and girls to embrace technology for social change.

Her skills span web development, digital marketing, SEO, and graphic design. She has successfully designed websites for her organizations and employs tools like WordPress, SEO optimization, and social media management tools to create impactful digital strategies. Her advocacy and dedication to intersectionality, gender equality, and technology education make her a standout figure in her field.

Keturah envisions a world where women and girls can harness the power of technology to transform their communities. She plans to establish a women-focused tech company to train and empower underserved women with digital skills, bridging technological and socioeconomic divides.
