Kobéy Smith

Kobéy Smith is an entrepreneur, business strategist, ecosystem builder, and emerging venture capital professional committed to expanding access to opportunity for founders and historically underinvested communities.

He currently serves as Coordinator of Inclusive Growth at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, where he develops and leads entrepreneurship programs, supports small business owners, builds strategic partnerships, and advances initiatives focused on inclusive economic growth. He also leads the Chamber’s Small Business Council and Diversity & Inclusion Council, convening business leaders, entrepreneurs, community organizations, and institutional partners to strengthen the regional business ecosystem.

Throughout his career, Kobéy has worked at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, capital access, community development, and business education. His work includes designing programs, facilitating conversations, advising entrepreneurs, managing stakeholder relationships, and creating opportunities that help businesses grow and communities thrive.

Kobéy holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and an MBA in management from Albertus Magnus College, where he graduated summa cum laude. His professional development includes the Black Venture Capital Consortium, the New England Impact Investing Initiative, the Institute for Social Banking, the McKinsey Forward Program, and the Evergreen Entrepreneurship Program.

His long-term vision is to build and invest in innovative companies across venture capital, artificial intelligence, financial technology, sports, media, and community-focused entrepreneurship. Kobéy is passionate about ownership, creativity, economic mobility, and helping the next generation of entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses and lasting legacies.
