Tatiana Krylova

Ms. Tatiana Krylova is the Head of the Enterprise Branch, Division on Investment and Enterprise at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Her duties among others include supervision and coordination of UNCTAD's programme on Entrepreneurship and SME development, which includes research, policy recommendations and technical cooperation projects, aiming at assisting developing countries and economies in transition on building their productive capacities, resilient micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including through their integration into Global Value Chains. She supervised the development of UNCTAD's Entrepreneurship Policy Framework (EPF) and Policy Guide on Youth Entrepreneurship; since 2004 coordinates the flagship entrepreneurship capacity building project Empretec which is being implemented by UNCTAD in more than 30 countries; and several projects on developing supplier capacity of MSMEs through their business linkages with large international or domestic companies. She is also in charge of UNCTAD's Intergovernmental Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR), which inter alia includes issues of financial inclusion and Accounting for SMEs as part of the UN Sustainable Development 2030 agenda. Before joining the UN in 2000, she was a partner at KPMG in Moscow where she was Head of the Methodology department that advised the governments and companies of the Russian Federation and Ukraine on transition to international requirements of accounting and reporting. In 1991-1996 she worked as a consultant for the World Bank, OECD, European Commission, EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development), Stanford University and the Academy of Science of the USA, in the area of accounting, reporting and financial management for the corporate sector. She obtained a PhD from Moscow State University where she was teaching courses on accounting, finance and enterprise performance analysis from 1980 to 2000; participated in faculty exchange programmes with London School of Economics, UK, and and Tübingen University, Germany. She was Raisa Gorbachev visiting Fellow at Stanford University, USA, in 1991-1992. She is an author of numerous publications on accounting, reporting and enterprise performance, and was selected as a Distinguished International Lecturer by the American Accounting Association, USA, in 1997.
