Ted Baker

Ted A. Baker serves as CEO & Executive Director of the Muncie Innovation Connector, Inc. (IC), an independent Mixed-Use Business Incubator (with a technology focus) serving entrepreneurs in East Central Indiana. In his 15th year leading the Innovation Connector, Ted has witnessed tremendous growth with client startups and successful business launches. Previously, he successfully started, grew & exited several for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations. Ted has extensive experience with non-profit boards and governance policy and has advised and coached many entrepreneurs in East Central Indiana and around the state. He is a member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Indiana Technology and Innovation Association. Ted currently serves as a founding member of the Indiana Starters Coalition and the national Right to Start Initiative. He continues to be a champion for Certified Technology Parks throughout Indiana. Ted serves in a leadership capacity for the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA) and is a Certified Incubator Manager & WKI Certified Business Coach. Ted has served extensively in organizations in the Muncie community, including Hillcroft Services, Ball State University Cardinal Varsity Club, First Choice for Women (co-founder,) current president of the Muncie Board of Works and Safety, Ball State’s Entrepreneurship Center Board, Advisory Board Member – East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center, Muncie Sports Commission, and the Delaware County Public Defender Board. He is a well-known guest/keynote speaker and presenter in East Central Indiana and the United States. Ted’s passion and energy for his work is contagious, and he sees his goal in life as making a positive difference in the lives of everyone he meets and works with.
After graduating from Ball State University, Ted and his wife, Gail, decided to remain in Muncie to live, work, and raise a family. They have four adult children and six grandchildren.
