Teresita Ibarra

Dr. Teresita Ibarra-Pérez, Ph.D., is a distinguished academic and professional with over 30 years of experience in entrepreneurship, management, business education, marketing, and public relations, spanning both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. She earned her Ph.D. in Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, specializing in International Business. Additionally, Dr. Ibarra-Pérez holds an MBA in Marketing from the Universidad del Turabo (now known as UAGM Gurabo Campus) and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus.
Dr. Ibarra-Pérez is the former Director of the Department of Business, Tourism, and Entrepreneurship at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez, Cupey Campus. In her role she imparts knowledge in marketing, entrepreneurship, international business, and management as an assistant professor. Dr. Ibarra-Pérez's scholarly contributions include presenting her research at international conferences like Dubai, Bulgari, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico.

In her extensive career, Dr. Ibarra-Pérez held several significant positions. She was the Executive Director of the Caribbean Girl Scouts Council, Fundación Dr. García Rinaldi, and Puerto Rico Lung Association. As an entrepreneur, she co-founded “Bien en Casa, Inc.”, the first non-traditional elderly transportation company in Puerto Rico, registered with the Public Services Commission. She was a partner in Alers, Ibarra, and Rodriguez Communicators and the Vogars Advertising Agency. She directed the International Marketing Division of Prodisc, Inc., the first compact disc factory in Puerto Rico. She has held various administrative roles within the UAGM System and UPR Carolina.

Dr. Ibarra-Pérez was also deeply involved in community services and mentorship. She volunteers for the multisector alliance Echar Pa’ lante, that collaborate in the development of a culture of entrepreneurship. Also served as the former president of the Board of Directors of Connecting Paths PR and mentors AdVitrum, a startup in the recycling industry in Puerto Rico.
