I have a 35+ years experience in IT gained working in Europe, USA and Asia as well as 15+ years experience in tourism and hospitality digital marketing in Europe and Africa.
The IT experience is spread through software development, systems integration and migration, enterprise directories and networks, consulting, sales, marketing, product development and marketing and business development.
In the early 2000's I started with so called “new media” at TUI and Thomas Cook and later moved into their resort and hotel business, also established Multi Media Studios for them.
The last 9 years I have been deeply involved in the Namibian and Southern African Tourism and Hospitality industry, recently as General Manager Marketing & IT establishing a Namibian Hotel Management company (O&L Leisure) and here, from a marketing aspect, turned around their two Hotels (Midgard Country Estate and Mokuti Etosha Lodge). Their occupancy was grown by 44%, the ADR by 24% and revenue by 85%. In only 3.5 years their online bookings were grown by 1200% and the EBIT by 343%. I was part of the core team who conceptualized, designed, developed and successfully opened the new Strand Hotel Swakopmund in October 2015. I also conceived the "Coming Home Recruitment Campaign" and the global Strand Hotel Swakopmund Launch Campaign.
With rainmaker, this extensive experience is now being shared with In-Destination Hotels, Lodges, Guesthouses and Tour Operators in order to create a competitive advantage for them against the global multinational players and to improve their bookings, occupancy, profit and reputation.
