Tiffany McVeety

Tiffany McVeety is founder of Girandola. Girandola was recently awarded a second Washington State Department of Commerce export grant to support the expansion of entrepreneurship training and best practices based on her 20 Core Business Principles as presented in the Entrepreneurial Edge Small Business Toolkit. She welcomes visiting professorships, speaking engagements, and the opportunity to implement the Girandola Academy entrepreneurship and small business leadership programs globally to help you reach, serve, and report successes of your entrepreneur development efforts.

Tiffany is a venture catalyst turned economic gardener. She helped dozens of high tech and life sciences companies launch and secure early stage financing. Her investor match-making events called Tech Views helped high tech emerging growth companies connect with angel investors for funding. Tiffany was Director of a U.S. Small Business Administration-funded Women’s Business Center where she administered the Latino, Women, and Miniority Micro-Loan Fund and the USDA Intermediary Loan Fund serving agriculture and rural entrepreneurs. Her center coached over 1,200 entrepreneurs each year through planning, starting, and funding their ventures. She is founding director of GROW Washington, the premier product-focused business incubator, and has been entrepreneurship faculty at three Northwest Colleges. Tiffany was recently appointed as the Chairwoman for The International Alliance of Women’s (TIAW) Micro Fund program, a series of over 50 micro enterprise development funds around the world. She presents best practices in creating a competitive and supportive entrepreneurial environment for women, indigenous, and disadvantaged populations globally. Her presentation at the Astana Forum in Kazakhstan was well received. In concert with the Astana Forum and the DAMU Fund, Girandola designed and presented half-day workshops for women entrepreneurs and select small business owners seeking to learn about doing business in the US.

Recognition for some of her initiatives include the Washington State Governor’s “Innovation Award” for her initiative to serve the mostly unbanked communities in rural northwest Washington, the Latino, Women, and Minority Business Assistance Center and Loan Fund; the “Most Innovative Program that Mobilizes Communities” award for developing the Tulalip Indian Nation’s Entrepreneurial Development Center operated from the local Chamber of Commerce office; Washington State Association for Small Business Incubators (WASBI) "Rookie of the Year" award for launching the first and only business incubator serving disadvantaged women in Washington; and the Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs “Rookie of the Year Award” for creating a business plan exchange program between Seattle and its Russian sister city during college.

Mrs. McVeety earned her Master’s of Business Administration and Bachelors of Arts in Entrepreneurship from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington. She enjoys sailing the Puget Sound with her husband of 22 years.
