Carla Walker-Miller is the Founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services (Walker-Miller), a values-driven, B Corp certified company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan with nearly 25 years transforming lives through energy. Walker-Miller is one of the largest African American and woman owned clean energy service companies in the country. As an empathetic visionary, Carla leads a dedicated team on a mission to Catalyze Equity AND Catalyze Excellence in the clean energy economy.

The experienced team at Walker-Miller help deliver the benefits of energy efficiency and beneficial electrification to families and businesses, while also creating clean energy jobs for underrepresented community members and designing innovative programs that empower diverse business owners to participate as suppliers and valued thought leaders.

In 2023, Carla convened the inaugural national Resilience and Equity in the Clean Energy Sector Summit (RECESS) in Detroit. With anticipated attendance of 700, RECESS25 will again invite Black, Indigenous and Brown people and others without an organic connection to the energy industry, to lifechanging opportunities. RECESS25 welcomes students, small businesses, community and environmental justice advocates, and everyday citizens working to discover their places in the clean energy economy.
