Yves Frederic Ndjoh

I am Yves Frederic Ndjoh, a Cameroonian entrepreneur and Industrial Engineering graduate passionate about using practical innovation to address energy, agriculture, and climate-related challenges in Africa.

I am the Founder and CEO of Kinetic Power Systems LTD (KPS), a clean technology company developing affordable solutions at the intersection of energy, agriculture, and sustainability. Our work focuses on turning engineering ideas into practical technologies that can respond to real challenges faced by communities and small businesses.

One of our flagship innovations is the Electrical Energy-Generating Speed Breaker (EEGSB), which is designed to recover energy from vehicles passing over speed breakers and convert it into electricity that can support applications such as street lighting, traffic signals, and security systems. I am also working on a Hybrid Intelligent Solar Dryer designed to help reduce post-harvest losses and food contamination while making food drying more accessible in areas with unreliable electricity. Another project, the Ultrasonic Locust Repellent, explores a sustainable approach to crop protection using ultrasonic technology and solar energy.

My entrepreneurial journey has also been shaped by learning, experimentation, and participation in international programmes. I am a TEF Entrepreneurship Programme alumnus and have received support through programmes including the Mastercard Foundation FAST initiative and Aspire Leaders. I was also selected as an IUCN Young Changemaker and as a World Energy Council Future Energy Leader. Through these experiences, I have had the opportunity to learn from entrepreneurs, engineers, climate and energy professionals, and young leaders from different parts of the world.

Beyond entrepreneurship, I have worked with the Alpha Omega Foundation as a Project Officer, where I have been involved in initiatives focused on education, livelihoods, and community development, including work supporting children from displaced families in Cameroon.

I believe entrepreneurship is not only about building a company. For me, it is about identifying problems that matter, learning continuously, building with what is available, and creating solutions that can eventually improve people's lives. I am particularly interested in connecting with entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and ecosystem builders who are working to advance inclusive innovation, clean energy, climate resilience, and sustainable development in Africa.

I am joining GEN to learn from the wider global entrepreneurship community, share my own experiences, build meaningful relationships, and explore opportunities to take practical African innovations to a wider scale.
