ZUHIR BUSNEINA

I am a Libyan academic, entrepreneurship ecosystem builder, and business development professional with experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup support.

I currently serve as the Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (EIC) at the Libyan International University (LIMU), where I work to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among students, faculty, and the wider community. I also serve as Head of the Business Administration Program at LIMU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Previously, I worked with SPARK Libya as a Project Assistant within the Libya Startup Project, where I gained practical experience supporting entrepreneurs and early-stage startups. Through the project, I contributed to initiatives that supported entrepreneurs and startups through matching, starting up, scaling, and skills development, helping them access relevant opportunities, partners, resources, and capacity-building support.

In my current role at LIMU, I focus on strengthening the university’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting student-led startups and innovative projects, connecting entrepreneurs with external partners and opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship education, and developing collaborations with local and international organizations. I am particularly interested in transforming academic ideas, research, and student graduation projects into viable business opportunities and creating stronger connections between universities, entrepreneurs, industry, investors, and ecosystem-support organizations.

My professional interests include entrepreneurship ecosystem development, startup incubation and acceleration, innovation, business development, entrepreneurship education, university–industry collaboration, and youth entrepreneurship.

I am particularly interested in learning from international entrepreneurship ecosystems, exchanging experiences with ecosystem builders and entrepreneurs from around the world, and contributing to the development of a stronger, more connected, and sustainable startup ecosystem in Libya and the wider region.
