Women Founders Roundtable Series

Back in 2019, HM Treasury and Alison Rose published the ‘Rose Review’ which built a picture of the landscape of women in entrepreneurship. It specifically identified multiple barriers that women founders are facing but have these barriers got any easier since 2019? Or have they got worse? And what roles do key stakeholders play in overcoming these barriers?

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, the University of Winchester and the University of Southampton are excited to facilitate two roundtable discussions and a networking opportunity to discuss barriers faced to women founders in the 21st century.

In the first roundtable, student champions from multiple Higher Education institutions will be discussing the barriers currently faced by women in the field of entrepreneurship. Student champions can be from any UK Higher Education Institution and have to be nominated by their institution to be at the main table. Anyone from the supporting universities can book a ticket! You will need your Student ID to book the space.

This shall be followed by a networking event where individuals will be encouraged to discuss the issues highlighted by the first roundtable.

Later in the afternoon, a private roundtable shall be held of Higher Education Institutions, Policymakers and ecosystem developers which shall specifically discuss the actions needed to be taken to overcome the barriers named earlier in the day. No tickets for this can be booked via this site, please email jarmstrong@genuk.org in the first instance so that we can get book you in.
