Speakers: Michael Shefer, Nathan Paynter & Dan Roberts

Nate is a member of the Parr Brown's Corporate group, focusing on business formation, mergers and acquisitions, securities as well as media, and First Amendment Law. Nate received his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 2012 where he was a Joseph E. Green Scholar and served as Executive Editor for The University of Chicago Legal Forum. In 2018, 2019, and 2021, Nate was recognized by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite for mergers and acquisitions. 

Michael is a member of Parr Brown’s business and finance practice group with an emphasis on securities, mergers and acquisitions, business organization and structuring,  and commercial finance. Michael's practice includes a broad range of corporate counseling as well as both domestic and international transactions. Mr. Schefer has substantial experience in all aspects of merger and acquisition transactions, including purchase agreement drafting and negotiation, due diligence investigations, and transaction closings. Prior to joining Parr Brown, Michael was an associate with White & Case LLP.

Dan is the Co-founder and President of Savvi Legal. Prior to Savvi, Dan was an attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP where he worked with hundreds of VC firms, accelerators, and startups throughout the country. Dan’s 9+ years of experience as a venture attorney gave him unique insight into the frustration attorneys experience due to a lack of technological integration. This insight is what propelled him to create Savvi, a platform for attorneys and founders to streamline their legal processes.
