On 12th November 2022, GEN Bangladesh hosted its 1st Board of Directors meeting at the Gulshan Club in Dhaka.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, the managing director of GEN Bangladesh presided over the board meeting. Mr. Jonathan Ortmans, the president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network attended the meeting virtually and shared GEN's vision, mission and objectives.
GEN operates a global platform of projects and programs in 180 countries aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. GEN is working towards building “One Global Entrepreneurial Ecosystem” by connecting researchers, academics, investors, business leaders, policy makers to support the aspiring and existing entrepreneurs.

GEN Bangladesh, an independent affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, is working toward strengthening Bangladesh's entrepreneurship ecosystem. Those present at the meeting expressed their strong commitment to support the development of the ecosystem so that Bangladesh's entrepreneurs can realize their innovations and ideas. During the meeting, the GEN Bangladesh Board Directors placed a high emphasis on celebrating entrepreneurs throughout the national Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign, which is taking place with a wide variety of events during the week of November 14-20.
The GEN Bangladesh Board also decided to build a delegation of Bangladesh's entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders to participating in the next Global Entrepreneurship Congress, which will be held from 1 to 4 May 2023 in Melbourne, Australia.
