DHAKA, Bangladesh – November 18, 2025 – As a central feature of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2025 inauguration, the "Idea and Innovation Showcasing" segment celebrated the next generation of problem-solvers, with GEN Bangladesh presenting awards to the most outstanding student-led projects. The showcase, held at the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2025 at Daffodil Plaza, provided a platform for young innovators to present their groundbreaking solutions to real-world challenges.
The segment highlighted the ingenuity and technical skill of students from various disciplines, who developed projects ranging from advanced robotics and public safety systems to sustainable social impact platforms. The awards recognized projects that demonstrated exceptional creativity, technical excellence, and the potential for significant positive impact.
The winning projects and their teams are:
Project: Multipurpose Robot v7
Team Leader: Md Shajad Sheikh
Innovation: This versatile robot platform is capable of both manual and autonomous operation, designed for diverse tasks like surveillance, environmental monitoring, and object manipulation. Featuring dual control, multisensor integration (camera, ultrasonic), and a robotic arm, the project delivered a fully operational prototype complete with a control application and system firmware. It was awarded for its advanced engineering and wide-ranging practical applications.
Project: Automatic Railway Zebra Crossing
Team Leader: Md: Rakibul hossain
Team Members: Md: Hridoye hossain, Md: Masbahul Islam, Md: Sakibul hossain
Innovation: Aimed at reducing railway accidents, this project uses Computer Vision and IoT sensors to create an automatic safety system at railway crossings. The system can resolve the critical issue of unmanned or improperly managed gateman posts by automatically activating safety measures when a train approaches. It was recognized for its potential to save lives and improve public infrastructure safety.

Project: FoodBridge
Team Leader: Md. Hasanuzzaman
Team Members: Mahfuz Shah, Shazib Sheikh, Himaloy, Bissash, Md Abul Kashem, Najim Uddin
Innovation: FoodBridge is a digital platform designed to combat food waste and hunger simultaneously. It connects food donors (restaurants, hotels) with a network of verified volunteers who ensure surplus food is efficiently redistributed to beneficiaries like food banks and shelters. The project was awarded for its powerful dual impact: reducing carbon emissions from food waste while feeding vulnerable communities. The team built the entire platform from scratch using open-source technology, demonstrating remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to social good.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh, praised the students for their vision and execution. "These projects are not just academic exercises; they are tangible solutions to pressing global and local problems," he said. "FoodBridge's mission to turn waste into a resource, the life-saving potential of the Automatic Railway Crossing, and the advanced capabilities of the Multipurpose Robot demonstrate that our youth are not just identifying problems—they are building the solutions. This is the spirit of entrepreneurship we are here to celebrate."
The Idea and Innovation Showcasing segment underscored the core message of GEW 2025: empowering young people to become the job creators and problem-solvers who will drive Bangladesh's future growth.
